Documents stay local

PDFs, form values, annotations and signatures are processed on your computer. Optional drafts, signatures and preferences are saved in your browser profile. They are not separately encrypted by Signfold.

Document data is used only for the PDF tools you choose. The extension does not sell document data or use it for advertising.

Web PDFs and activation

Opening a web PDF requests optional access to the selected website. That website receives a download request and ordinary network information such as your IP address; Signfold does not send cookies. Clicking Activate in Signfold on merchavelo.com sends a purchase-session ID to the extension. Signfold validates the sender and session format, then verifies the purchase with the license service. The website does not receive PDF contents.

Purchases and licenses

Purchases are currently disabled. When enabled, Stripe Managed Payments is intended to act as seller of record and handle payment details, receipts and applicable taxes, subject to account approval. The license service receives your random installation ID, license key, device name, purchase email and network IP address. It stores a hashed device ID and license key, plus an encrypted copy of the key for recovery. Documents never enter the license service.

Export licenses allow three devices. An online check refreshes access daily; a verified license works offline for up to 14 days. Refunds and device removals revoke access when verified.

Deletion and support

Clear local data in Settings. Contact [email protected] for purchase recovery or data requests. Financial records may need to be retained by the payment provider.
