16 units still owed
The half-received order.
A supplier ships 24 of 40. The order gets marked received to tidy the screen, and the 16 still owed only come up again when a customer asks for one.

Shopify apps · Custom development
Purchase orders, partial deliveries, late freight bills and stock counts across locations. Merchavelo builds the apps that keep those records straight, starting with Inventory. If your process needs its own app, we build that too.
Inventory is preparing for release
The cost of doing it by hand
Three things that happen in most stores that buy from suppliers. None of them shows up on a dashboard until it has already cost money.
16 units still owed
A supplier ships 24 of 40. The order gets marked received to tidy the screen, and the 16 still owed only come up again when a customer asks for one.
$150 freight, two weeks late
The goods were costed at $20 a unit. Then the freight invoice lands. Unless someone reworks the cost, every margin report keeps using $20.
1 cost field per variant
Shopify stores one cost per variant across every location. Updated by hand from whatever invoice was nearest, it becomes a guess everyone builds on.
Merchavelo Inventory
Inventory follows a delivery through every step that changes what it cost or where it sits. Each step is saved with a name and a time, so “what happened here?” already has an answer.

See how it worksFour rules Inventory keeps
When a supplier disputes a delivery or your accountant asks where a cost came from, the answer should already be written down.
Saving a draft or opening a purchase order never changes Shopify quantities. Accepted units reach the destination location when the receipt is processed.
A correction is a new reversal or adjustment with a reason and a name. The original receipt is still there when the supplier asks about it.
Inventory previews the new landed unit cost. A manager approves it before Shopify’s cost field changes, and sees that the field applies at every location.
Imported Stocky records go into an archive. They feed your reports and never receive the same units a second time.
